Spring travel with Thomas Pink

Planning a much-deserved mini break, or at least making the most of the upcoming bank holidays? Plan the perfect spring wardrobe with our seasonal essentials.

It’s been a pretty unforgiving 2024 so far, weather-wise, but even though temperatures aren’t exactly blazing, spring has officially sprung. And while we may not be dusting off the barbecue any time soon, there’s a slew of bank holidays on the horizon (including the current Easter holidays) and many of us are looking forward to switching off and switching on the “out of office”.

Indeed, the current financial pinch isn’t deterring people from booking a much-needed break. Despite the ongoing cost of living crisis and geopolitical challenges, travellers ‘will continue to take holidays no matter what’, according to a panel of experts at the Abta travel trends conference held late last year.

Spring is the ideal time to explore the UK. The capital itself is filled with greenery, with some 3,000 parks covering around 18 per cent of the city, making it one of the greenest in Europe. However, we all know that the weather can be unreliable in good old Blighty. So why not take yourself off to one of the other European capitals, which will be basking in pleasant sunshine without the summer crowds or scorching temperatures. Rome, Lisbon and Budapest are all hotting up, and the Canary Islands, Greece, Cyprus and Morocco are already enjoying temperatures around the mid 20s. Sun worshippers should visit Seville, which is nicknamed the “frying pan” of Spain due to its scorchio temperatures, which easily hit the 30s in April. Further afield, New York is said to be at its most beautiful in April, and Japan is currently enjoying its resplendent sakura season.

Whatever your plans – even if they don’t go much beyond a trip to the local B&Q – Thomas Pink has the perfect wardrobe essentials to navigate springtime.

Linen Shirts

Linen is one of the world’s oldest fabrics and is a pleasure to wear when temperatures rise, with its lightweight and breathable qualities. Our signature winter linen fabric, which features fibres that are more tightly wound than cotton, creates a heavier-gauge material that will see you through all seasons.

Smart Casual Shirts

Spring is the perfect time to treat yourself to some new clothing. Our smart-casual shirts are the kind that look just as great with a pair of jeans on the weekend as they do in the office. Go for a preppy striped Oxford or a touch of sophistication with our brushed herringbone shirt.

Coats and Jackets

Even if you are jetting off for a spring getaway, it makes sense to pack some warm layers in case the weather takes a turn. Spring is notoriously temperamental, after all. Slip on our lightweight quilted gilet for a snug extra layer, or turn heads in our statement varsity bomber or chore jackets.
