Thomas Pink on the cover of Times Luxx

This weekend sees the publication of the latest Times Luxx Men’s Report. Making his fashion publication cover debut is chef Jackson Boxer, dressed head-to-toe in Thomas Pink.

Boxer is hot news in 2024. The chef and restaurateur comes from a culinary dynasty that includes renowned food writer Arabella Boxer (his grandmother) and his brother, Frank, founder of the eponymous and hugely popular Frank’s Cafe in Peckham. Boxer is chef patron of Orasay Restaurant in Notting Hill and founder of Brunswick House in Vauxhall, alongside his latest venture, The Corner Restaurant residency at Selfridges. Naturally, fashion took the focus of the interview, with Boxer reliving his punk roots and subsequent mellowing following the arrival of his four children, as well as the rise of the rock and roll chef thanks to the popularity of on-screen depictions as seen in Boiling Point and The Bear.

‘London hasn’t produced a good rock and roll band for 20 years,’ he mused in the interview when quizzed about the population’s appetite for such exploits. ‘It’s impossible now for a group of four friends to gig every night and work in a pub. There’s no money and no venues. And so we’ve witnessed the extinction of rock and roll as a teenage force of culture... Chefs have risen to occupy that space.’

Boxer grew up in South London at a time when men’s fashion was at its most ‘interesting and radical’, as he cites the European Modernist movement and Hedi Slimane’s reinvention of Dior. While his personal style may be tamer today, he embodies a certain Alex Turner-esque swagger with slicked-back hair and jewellery, accentuated by the choice of Thomas Pink clothing, which he wore for an exclusive shoot at Brunswick House.
