Portraits in Pink: Taemin Ha

What was the inspiration behind your portrait?

When Thomas Pink asked me for a portrait, I wanted to have a shoot with someone that I am really close with. Oneseo Choi and I have been friends since we were 15. I visited his studio and took a walk with him.

What sort of photography do you specialise in?

Documentary and portrait; I would describe my work as focusing on the depiction of individuals and communities with whom I have engaged, highlighting their various characteristics and intimate moments.

Who or what inspires you creatively?

My friends around me, who are musicians, artists and directors.

Generally speaking, what makes a good picture?

The time spent between the photographer and subjects is crucial, as I believe it shows in the picture.

What’s the most memorable picture you’ve taken?

It’s quite hard to choose, as I have many memorable ones from my journey in photography.

Finally, what do you look for in a shirt?

Comfort, texture and details.
